Little Puzzlers has an opening for a full time Assistant Teacher/Teacher in our Toddler room. Candidate must meet Rule 3 qualifications for a teacher, have a current CPR & First Aid Certification, and pass a background check. Some responsibilities and requirements of the job are: - Prompt and reliable attendance
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to work well with co-workers
- Must be able to be cheerful, nurturing, and maintian calm is stressful situations
- Assist the teacher in planning both long and short- range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy.
- Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child.
- Assist the teacher in preparing, teaching and carrying out the days curriculum activities
- Assist with meals, snacks and cleanup.
- Participate in the physical needs of the child including diapering, toileting, hand-washing, etc.
- Set out cots for nap time
- Assist the teacher in performing developmental assessments.
- Bring developmental concerns to Teacher for further evaluation.
- Maintain communication with parents including a daily information sheet.
- Monitor room for safety hazards, correct or bring concerns to Teacher.
- Document accident and incident reports
- Maintain confidentiality
- Report any suspect abuse
- Attend in-service and staff meetings.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in room
- Participate in mandatory monthly fire drills/evacuations & storm drills
- Meet all applicable licensing regulations
- Perform all closing duties including the neccessary cleaning
- Any other tasks assigned by teacher or the director
